Suffering From Bunions

Q: My foot hurts because I have a painful bunion. I have a job where I am on my feet most of the time and sometimes can't put in a full day's work because of pain and swelling. I also have a hard time fitting into new shoes. What can be done?

A:

Bunions have hindered many active lifestyles. A bunion is basically an enlargement of the first toe joint that causes the bones in the joint to become misaligned. After a while it will resemble a knob or ball bulging out from the side of your foot.

Many bunions may be corrected through minimal incision techniques. Using this technique, we reduce the enlarged joint behind the first toe and straighten the misalignment of the bones using 2 to 3 small incisions. This makes it possible to correct the problem without having to wear a cast or endure a long, painful recovery time. Many times no sutures are necessary due to the size of the incisions and there is not unsightly bunion scar.

If you are suffering needlessly from bunion pain call today for an initial consultation. Many patients are pleasantly surprised by how little pain they actually experience. Most major insurance plans accepted.
